"A wise man builds his home upon a rock." This Mt. Vernon, Washington home, nestled in the woods of Pleasant Ridge, has its foundation epoxy-
pinned to the surrounding rock (see bottom photo).

The varied design elements create an interesting, contemporary exterior, and a warm, Northwest-style interior. Brazilian cherry floors, fir cabinets and railings, clear-story ceilings and an enormous block fireplace make the home feel much larger than its true size. The rear covered porch reflects the interior with a brick fireplace and fir ceiling.
